Jonathan always had a rainbow. Also a dog, a flute, and some corn. He took them with him everywhere, even shopping. But one day his family grew very poor. Jonathan split up he corn, patted the dog, went out on their porch, played his flute, showed off his rainbow, and made enough to buy them shoes and supper. Then one day a kindly old man also bought the rainbow. Here's what it's like to lose a rainbow.
